FRESH TO STRONG WINDS & SWELLS FOR SOLOMONS

The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has issued a fresh to strong winds warning of 15 to 25 knots and moderate swells of 2.5 meters to most open waters of the Solomon Islands.

The Met office today says the warning is active for the eastern region of Makira, Temotu, Rennell and Bellona and the eastern parts of Malaita province.

It said this is due to a trough which lies to the North of Solomon Islands.

Meanwhile, the office warns that these estimates of wind waves swells do not take into account the enhancing effects of the local sea current.
