The Parliamentary Opposition Group is calling on the Prime Minister to remove his Forestry Minister Bodo Dettke and Special Secretary to Prime Minister Rence Sore.

In a media statement today, the Opposition said Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare should remove his Forestry Minister as serious allegations have been leveled against him relating to his involvement in logging activities in the country.

The Opposition said it has received reliable information that Mr Dettke has involved in some serious allegations and the Prime Minister must take appropriate action.

Meanwhile, the alternative government also called on the Prime Minister to remove his Special Secretary Rence Sore.

It said Mr Sore’s directorship in the Solomon Islands Development Corporation Limited (SIDCL) – the joint venture company with Skyline Investment Group Company – to build the 5,000 homes for public servants is a conflict of interest.

The Opposition said the fact that Mr Sore is a director of SIDCL is already suspicious and raise more questions than answers.

It said the Prime Minister’s failure to take action against his Forestry Minister and SSPM will only create more questions.
