The 2016 Legal Year has opened.

“Raising Standard” is the theme for this year.

Chief Justice Sir Albert Palmer made the assurance during the opening of the 2016 legal year today.

Sir Palmer said the theme applies for all Lawyers and Judicial Officers as well as staff in the Justice and Legal sectors.

He says it can be relied on as a challenge to improve work performances this year.

“The overall and specific theme, however, I have taken for this year is “Raising Standards”. I have decided this year to pick up on a specific theme that should apply to all laywers and judicial officers and staff in the justice and legal sectors, which you can rely on as a challenge and also to spur you on to improve on your work this year. This theme to raise standards is a call to improve on what you have achieved last year and not to be contented with the achievements of the past.”
