The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has sent 3,000 application forms throughout the country for its new recruitment program.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendagast says the due date for the applications is next month.

He particularly encourages females to apply.

“The campaign is due to end on the 19th of April 2016, we’re keen to get representatives from every province and also we’re really looking to up our numbers of female recruits, so if any girls out there who you think they might be interested in a policng career to get a form and apply. I’ve been in the force for 30 years and I recommend it as a career so we want anyone who might be interested in a policing career to apply.”

The Recruitment Program will train 140 new police officers this year.
