Investigators and Prosecutors are currently attending an Anti-Corruption Training Workshop in Honiara.

The workshop is attended by 20 personnel from the Financial Intelligence Unit, Central Bank Audit Branch, Ombudsman, Law Reform Commission, Leadership Code Commission, Anti-Corruption Unit of the RSIPF and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Director of the Public Prosecutions, Ronald Bei Talasasa says the training will raise the investigators and prosecutors knowledge in dealing with corruption cases.

“It is important for investigators and prosecutors to come up with a level of prosecution especially in terms of corruption and this is a way whereby that recommendation is implemented.”

The Workshop is facilitated by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) with assistance from UNDP Office in Fiji.

The workshop ends today.
