The East-West Center is accepting applications for the 2014 Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar.

An email reaching SIBC News said up to ten participants from the Pacific will be selected for the program.

This year’s theme is “Women as Innovators and Entrepreneurs: Generating Job Creation and Strengthening Communities” and will focus on the important role that innovation and entrepreneurship plays in contributing to job creation and strengthening communities.

Innovators may generally be defined as those who have created an original idea or product, are recognized for their ability to “build a better mouse-trap” or improve upon an original idea or find new arenas for application.

Participants will, thus, explore how their innovative and entrepreneurial skills, experience, and knowledge generate value through the creation or expansion of economic activity, evidenced by job creation, economic growth and community development.

They will also discuss the broader linkages between business and the community.

The 2014 Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar will take place at the East West Center in Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii from July 14 to July 26 this year.

Applications to the program will close on Monday next week.
