The final arguments were presented this morning at the High Court for former militant Samson Leketo.

Leketo stood trial for attempted murder, common assault and intimidation.

This morning before the case closed he was given a choice on whether to testify in Court.

The Judge gave him three choices, to give evidence under oath, to make a statement without an oath or remain silent.

Leketo chose to remain silent.

The charges against him relate to an incident in Weathercoast, South Guadalcanal in 2002 when Leketo allegedly tried to murder a man by pointing a gun at him.

It was alleged Leketo cocked the gun three times at the victim’s face, but nothing happened.

Four prosecution witnesses testified during the trial, with three giving evidence in Court.

The Court will deliver its verdict on the 10th of this month.
