FINANCE AND POLICE MINISTERS SWORN IN

The final two Cabinet Ministers of the Democratic Coalition for Change Government have taken their oaths of office at the Government House this afternoon.

Sworn in before the Governor-General Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui is the new Minister for Finance and Treasury Hon. Snyder Rini and the Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services Hon. Peter Shanel Agovaka.

Taking his oath of office before the Governor-General, Finance Minister Hon. Snyder Rini vows to do his best to manage the public affairs of the country.

“I Honourable Snyder Rini, Minister of Finance and Treasury and being a member of the Cabinet do swear that I will do the best of my judgment at all times and so required freely give my counsel and advice to the Governor-General of Solomon Islands or any other person for the time being lawfully performing the function of that office for the good management of the public affairs of Solomon Islands.”

Meanwhile, also taking his oath of office before the Governor-General is the new Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services Peter Shanel Agovaka.

“I Peter Shanel Agovaka, Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services and being member of the Cabinet do swear that I will to the best of my judgment at all times and so required freely give my counsel and advice to the Governor-General of Solomon Islands or any other person for the time being lawfully performing the functions of that office for the good judgement of the public affairs of Solomon Islands.”

SIBC News is aware the two new Ministers have also taken their Oaths of Allegiance before the Governor-General today.
