It is a sad reality that top world leaders like President Donald Trump of the United States has unsigned the recent Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Governor General in-office, Sir Dr. Frank Ofagioro Kabui highlighted in his official speech at Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday celebrations in Honiara today.

Sir Dr. Frank made the observation following a serious climate change warning established by the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2018 that said there will be irreversible consequences to the planet if nothing is done about the causes of climate change.

Quoting from the IPCC key recommendations for dealing with the current challenges of global warming, Sir Frank said this is a great concern.

“The key message in the IPCC report is, and I quote cut carbon pollution as much as possible, as fast as possible,” he said.
