The Good Samaritan Hospital, Guadalcanal Plains, confirms it is yet to receive patients complaining of the unusual diseases associated with the Goldridge Tailings dam spillage.

Sister In-charge at the Good Samaritan Hospital Daly Roho made the clarification following complaints of skin diseases from the downstream communities.

Sister Roho says the Hospital is aware of the risks and is prepared to deal with any related or suspicious case.

Meanwhile she encourages the Gold Ridge downstream communities to seek medical assistance if they suddenly fall sick or experience itchiness after using their rivers.

“They need to come to the hospital and report cases so that we can send people to check if each case is increasing on certain diseases or certain symptoms that are uncommon to them.”
