GOV’T COMMISSIONED DIPLOMATS TO BELGIUM AND INDONESIA

The government has commissioned another two Ambassadors at the Government House today.

They are Moses Kouni Mose, who will be the Solomon Islands Ambassador to Belgium and Salana Kalu, the new Solomon Islands Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia.

Delivering the charged today,Governor General Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui said the task of the Ambassadors is to represent and promote the interest of the people and Government of Solomon Islands in the country they are posted to.

“Your task is first and foremost to represent and promote the interests of the Government of Solomon Islands in the country to which you have now been accredited. The government and the people of Solomon Islands expect you to provide sound advise and deliberation on all matters during your tenure of office. These could be political, economic, social and cultural.”

Mr Moses was previously Solomon Islands Ambassador in Fiji, and also in Geneva, Switzerland.

This will be a first official overseas mission appointment for Mr Kalu.
