A government delegation led by Minister Honourable Andrew Manepora’a had a successful dialogue with two Landowners with registered titles along the Auki Kilu’ufi road.

This negotiation is for possible acquiring of land to expand Auki Township.

The Government says urban expansion programs will result in the purchase of land for commercial, industrial and residential development.

This means more landowners along Auki Fiu road will be consulted to partner with the Provincial Executive and the National Government to expand Auki town.

The Minister of Lands Honourable Manepora’a says the trip was successful and a fulfillment of the Government policy on urban expansion and partnership with resource owners.

Meanwhile Malaita Province Premier Hon. Peter Channel Ramohia says, his government is pleased with national government assistance through the Ministry of Lands in addressing the shortage of land in Auki.

SIBC News understands, the Delegation includes the Minister of Lands, the Permanent Secretary, the Commissioner of Lands, the Valuer General, Lands legal officer, Assistant Commissioner of Lands (Rural), Senior Physical Planner and four members from the Prime Minister’s Office.
