The Supervising Mayor of Honiara City Mr. Charles Aiwosuga has said the council needs public support to deliver a crime free Honiara to its citizens.

Mr. Aiwosuga made the appeal during the 38th Independence Anniversary celebrations last Thursday.

“The Council needs public support to address all these issues. Business houses, NGOs and Churches especially, I would call on you to address these issues seriously. Let us all strive to live in an environment that enjoyable and is a crime free City for a better tomorrow for our future generation to enjoy our beautiful Honiara.”

He also urged Solomon Islanders to take ownership of Honiara City.

“Let us take ownership of Honiara City. Honiara is our City so let us look after our City so that we can all enjoy the service provided by the City from all works of life. The City Council cannot do it alone, we immediately need public support.”
