The Helena Goldie Hospital in Munda, Western Province says its emergency services has improved after the arrival of a medical doctor the UK Methodist.

The Hospital recently faced great difficulties with referral cases but Hospital Secretary, Soraya Pina said the situation improved after Dr. Jenny Longbottom arrived.

“We had also overspent especially in sending emergency cases to Honiara and Gizo hospitals, so we are really happy for her return.”

Meanwhile, the Hospital Secretary says the Helena Goldie Hospital authorities are still calling on the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to reaffirm its commitment to send in a medical doctor to the hospital.

“Her staying will not really be long-term so we would really like to have a long-term doctor staying with us, so we are still waiting on the government.”
