The High Court has adjourned hearing the appeal against the acquittal of two Asian men charged with prostitution to the 11th of next month.

The appeal was set to be heard yesterday, but was adjourned because some relevant documents are yet to completed in the prosecution’s appeal book.

Zhu Jian Chun and Luo Dong Xiao were charged with living on the earnings of prostitution and aiding prostitution in Honiara between October 2009 and February 2010.

They stood trial last year but were acquitted in July at the Magistrates Court after a no case to answer ruling.

The Director of Public Prosecution however filed an appeal against the acquittal.

They are appealing for the acquittal to be set aside and substituted with an order remitting the matter for re-trial before a differently constituted court.
