An illegal drug outlet at Silolo near Malu’u in North Malaita was burned down to ashes over the weekend.

Head of Silolo Law Enforcement group Mr Wilson Talofunu confirms to SIBC’s Stringer in Malu’u, North Malaita Lensley Kwaimani.

Mr. Kwaimani reports.

“Mr Talofunu said the burning down of the locally-built outlet was done by a group of community law enforcers after experiencing a surge in anti-social behaviour by youths in the community. He also confirmed they have gathered enough evidence to prove that the outlet was mainly supplying illicit drugs like kwaso, home brewed beer and marijuana.”

Meanwhile, Lensley says elders and community leader in that area earlier reported the outlet to the police who did not take the issue seriously.
