INTERIM TASK FORCE FORMED TO DEAL WITH BURNED HOSPITAL

An interim task force is hard at work trying to address urgent issues affecting Gizo Hospital after its pharmacy, administration and kitchen were completely destroyed by fire last Friday.

The Provincial Minister for Health and Medical Services Hon. Jane Tozaka immediately appointed the special provincial task force and ordered, it get to work and ease pressures exerted on the hospital authorities and especially the patients caused by the cruel fire.

Comprising of current western provincial disaster officials and additional technical personals, Hon. Jane Tozaka explains the work of the task force.

“Three issues have been identified which needs immediate action and they are sewerage lining system within the old hospital building needs immediate fixing and also the old pipe that connects the old hospital building and also the pharmacy which was housed in the burned building, so those are the three areas that we need the task force to quickly address.”

Radio Hapi Lagun’s Sina Adrian reports, the WPG’s initial task is to assess and evaluate the damage caused and submit a report on its findings in the next fortnight.

The task force is chaired by the Western Provincial Secretary, Adrian Toni.
