One of the major partners in the Coalition for Change Government has deplored the attack by some unknown people on its designated parliamentary wing leader and Member for East Are’are Andrew Manepora’a.

Kadere Party President Alfred Legua made the statement after personally attending to his wing leader at the National Referral Hospital this afternoon.

Mr. Legua says as a partner in the current coalition, Kadere Party should be celebrating Manasseh Sogavare’s election as Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, he congratulates the learned Member for East Choiseul for his victory today and assures Mr. Sogavare of his party’s continuous prayers and support.

Mr. Legua says, today our people know Sogavare is the new PM, something that Kadere had assisted in lobbying hard in the last two weeks to achieve.

He adds while we celebrate Sogavare’s victory it must be made known that attacks on national leaders such as the one carried out on Manepora’a do not in any way hinder the fine traditions of our democracy.

Mr. Manepora’a was attacked while his coalition partners were having an outing at the Maravagi tourist resort on Ngella last night before the PM’s election today.
