The Bubuni, Harivava Development Council, and the Bubuni Land Trust Board have completed the land mobilisation phase in preparation of theBubuni Seaport and the O’oroba Fisheries Projects at Suafa Bay, North Malaita.

General Secretary of Bubuni, Harivava Development Council Mr. Henry Tabusu says the consultation meeting with House of Chiefs, tribal representatives, and Malaita Provincial executive has been concluded at Manaoba Training Center.

Mr. Tabusu acknowledged parties involved, especially the ten tribes who have agreed and certified documents pertaining to landownership.

“So we’ve identified some of the lands which were given through cultural ways to identify people as well as other tribes and people who own land within the project operation area.”

He says this is the important phase of preparation work so the project can operate without dispute.
