Honiara musicians and bands have teamed together to organise a live concert in aid of this month’s flash flood survivors and their families.

Representing the music community, the April Rains Flood Committee was established to organise the “Band Laev Konset” – a music festival of contemporary and religious bands, and cultural groups within Honiara.

Committee Chairperson Selwyn Do’oro said the Committee hopes that the Live Concert will provide an avenue for hope, promise and inspiration for survivors of the flood.

Mr Do’oro said proceeds from the concert will go towards supporting children and their mothers meet their educational needs.

He adds the Solomon Islands Full Gospel Association will be using the proceeds to purchase school uniforms and stationary for children.

The live band concert will be held on East Monday at the National Art Gallery.
