MAGISTRATE COMMITTED MAN TO STAND TRIAL IN HIGH COURT
The Magistrate Court has committed a man accused of abducting and raping a girl in West Guadalcanal to stand trial at the High Court.
The Committal was made this week after a short-form preliminary inquiry was held for the case.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Shepherd Lapo was satisfied there is enough evidence qualifying the man to stand trial at the High Court.
The accused has denied both charges of abduction and rape which he allegedly committed on a 15-year-old girl in February this year.
