Newly elected Honiara City Mayor Alfrence Fatai says the enforcement of by-laws is necessary to ensure a safe city for its citizens.

In his victory message last Tuesday, Mr Fatai urges other Councillors to work with the authorities, stakeholders and community to ensure a safe and secure city.

“The enforcement of by-laws is necessary and all Councilors are encouraged to know the by-laws to begin with and work in partnership with authorities, our stakeholders and communities to keep our city safe and secure for our citizens.”

The Lord Mayor adds the infrastructure division will be required to deliver it’s mandated service required from all Councillors.

“Our infrastructure division will be required to deliver its mandated services. We must resource this sector to effectively carry out the services required of us.”
