NO TSUNAMI THREAT FOR SOLOMON ISLANDS, SAYS NDMO

The National Disaster Management Office, NDMO, says there is no tsunami threat to the Solomon Islands following an earthquake which occurred around 3pm today.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred at 3.04pm this afternoon near 35 kilometres Southeast of Buala, Isabel Province.

The statement was issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Services for the National Disaster Management Office at 3.25pm this afternoon.

It says, no further updates will be issued unless the situation changes.
