OPPOSITION LEADER SHOCKED BY ALLEGED SHOOTING, CONDEMNED IT
The Office of the Opposition has strongly condemned the alleged shooting incident which happened Monday morning saying those involved must face justice.
A statement from the office late last night says the Leader of Opposition was shocked to learn of the life threatening incident faced by a group of MPs who were returning from a trip to an island resort prior to the Prime Minister’s election.
Opposition Leader Jeremiah Manele says he only learnt of the incident after the Prime Minister’s election.
Condemning the incident in the strongest term, Mr Manele says those involved are mindless criminals and targeting the country’s national leaders must not be tolerated.
The Opposition Leader calls on relevant authorities, law-abiding citizens and communities to assist police investigations in bringing these perpetrators to justice.
Mr Manele adds his office and the entire Opposition group fully supports the efforts to bring those involved to justice.
