The Office of the Prime Minister has denied there is pressure to remove members of the Kandere Party from the Democratic Coalition for Change Government.

The Office of the Prime Minister was responding to media reports that the Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare was under pressure to remove one of the coalition partners from the DCC Government.

In a statement issued yesterday a spokesman for the Prime Minister said Manasseh Sogavare was under no pressure.

The spokesman said there is no pressure to remove Kandere Party from the coalition.

He adds Kandere Party, like the United Democratic Party and the People’s Alliance Party is committed to the coalition.

Meanwhile, the spokesman has appealed to the media fraternity to be agents of stability, purpose, substance and truth – rather than being agents of instability and divisive tactics based on untruths.

He said everyone needs to work together for the future and the betterment of Solomon Islands people and the nation.
