PASAI SUPPORTED GOV’T IN RECONCILING FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS

The Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) has supported the government in reconciling its financial accounts.

Key government officials locked discussions on the roles played by Members of Parliament in overseeing the administration of public funds.

The roles of the Public Accounts Committee and the Public Expenditure Committee have been dissected.

Acting Auditor General Robert Cohen says the Office of the Auditor-General is one of the integrity agencies whose recommendations were not always easily implemented.

Mr Cohen says, the intention of the workshop is to establish workable relationships with the Committees.
