PEOPLE SHOULD ENGAGE IN GROWING PROVINCE: RAMOHIA

Premier of Malaita Province Peter Ramohia says the people of Malaita Province should be engaged in growing the economy of the province.

Premier Ramohia told SIBC News, his government’s policy statement highlights areas that will address economic development in rural communities.

He says his government will assist rural communities utilize their resources for economic development.

“The province will work to address the projects that will address economic development in the communities and this means helping or assisting the communities to ensure that their resources can be turned into money-making resources and we’re looking at resources like cocoa, copra, honey, timber and others.”

The Malaita Premier adds, transportation services is important for economic development.

“Infrastructure is really important and we are putting emphasis on this because all these, power and road infrastructure are a prerequisite for development in the province.”
