POLICE, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO CONDUCT JOINT OPS

A joint operation by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Customs, Immigration and the Quarantine Division will start at Gizo, Western Province this week.

Deputy Police Commissioner, Juanita Matanga confirms, the operation in her media conference last week.

She told local reporters, the operation will focus on issues arising from logging camps across the country, attracting police attention.

“This operation involves these law agencies to look at some of the issues that continues to attract police attention. In particular to check for the status of employees in logging camps, land titles, duties and permits or other areas associated with companies that we see are causing problems to policing.”

The Deputy Police Commissioner says the operation begins at Gizo and Kolombangara in the Western Province and will move on to Sun Fly, Ngella in the Central Islands.
