Attempts to address issues in Mono, Shortland Islands are progressing well.

Deputy Police Commissioner Administration Juanita Matanga says the Deputy Police Commissioner Operations is currently in Mono, Western Province to work out the situation.

Mrs. Matanga says as of Wednesday this week, the outcome of his meeting with the Mono communities has been very positive.

Meanwhile, she says investigation still continues into the allegations against some officers of the force who were sent to Mono.

“That’s part of what we are doing now is that we’ve sent our Deputy Commissioner Acting to dialogue with people on the ground and if any issues to do with some of the officers, we will refer it to the Professional Standard Internal Investigations to conduct their investigation into the actions during that time. At the moment, I will not comment further because it is now under investigation.”
