At least two police officers were injured and four vehicles were damaged during two major incidents involving rock throwing on police vehicles over the Easter weekend.

The two incident occurred at Borderline area and Karaina settlement at White River.

A total of eight male suspects has surrendered yesterday in relation to the Karaina incident while police are yet to confirm the number of arrests in relation to the borderline incident.

Speaking in his weekly media conference today, Police Commissioner Prendergast, thanks, both communities for their cooperation in bringing the suspects to justice.

“So given that those issues are in court now, I don’t want to say too much more about it other than the one that such behaviour is totally unacceptable and we need to stamp that out, but secondly, I’ve been very grateful and I’d like to thank the community for their assistance to police subsequently in dealing with individuals involved.”
