The search continues for a man who is missing after an incident in the Tavaruhu waterfall area last Thursday that left one woman dead.

Police confirmed that they are still searching for the missing person, Chris Nemaia. The maritime unit has joined the search along the Honiara coastline.

Mr Nemaia was part of a group of Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau employees that were reportedly hit by flash flooding while assessing a hiking program near the Mataniko River.

Three other members of the group have survived the ordeal.

Visitors bureau staff, relatives, volunteers and Tuvaruhu community residents are assisting in the search for Mr Nemaia along the Mataniko River.
