The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are still waiting for the post-mortem results of the young person who recently died in state custody.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast told local journalists over the weekend, they are still waiting with interest for the results to arrive from Australia.

“We are waiting for the results of that report with a great deal of interest. I think the results from Australia still haven’t been received, but once we get those we’ll certainly let people know, inform people about the results of the inquiry and the post mortem and then clearly I’ve undertaken several times that then we’ll ensure that this goes to a hearing under the Fire and Death Act so that there can be a proper independent examination of what’s occurred and I think that’s important from an accountability perspective and I am very committed to making that happen.”

SIBC News understands, the mother of the lad has expressed concerns regarding justice for her late son.
