Registered voters in the Central Honiara Constituency can now begin to check their names in the Provisional List.

The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission this week announced that most constituencies in Honiara and the provinces can now access their lists as of yesterday.

Speaking to SIBC News, Central Honiara’s Registration Officer Michael Laumani said Provisional Lists for Central Honiara will be available at four areas.

“For all registered voters they must go to these centres. For Central Honiara the centres are the Museum leaf hut at Point Cruz, Mbokonavera school, Tuvaruhu at the Church of Melanesia hall and the Multi-purpose hall at Lawson Tama, so these are all the centres to which all registered voters in Central Honiara must go to register their Omissions and Objections.”

He said they have already posted lists at Fulisango, Matariu and the Honiara City Council area, adding they hope to complete this exercise today.

“We’ve started posting out the Provisional Lists for the Central Honiara Constituency, beginning at Fulisango, Matariu and here at the Honiara City Council area. Actually we put the lists under the care of responsible people only for fear of the lists being removed or stolen and we hope to complete the exercise by tomorrow (today).”
