Residents of Somata and Pepesala estate on Russell Islands Plantation Estate Limited (RIPEL) says they are prepared to defend themselves in court regarding the unlawful shipment of copra as claimed by the RIPEL Management.

In a Service Message broadcasted via SIBC recently, the RIPEL management condemned the Somata and Pepesala estate residents for shipping unlawful copra produces last week.

But a Willie Tefoi said, Somata and the Pepesala estate residents are always faithful in complying with RIPEL management decisions.

He said, they will continue to sell copra products from RIPEL adding that they are well prepared to defend themselves in court on this matter.

“So what I’d like to say is that we will continue to bring our copra produce to sell in Honiara. If the General Manager and Oliver Salopuka chair of the Lavukal Trust board wants to take us to court, we are well-prepared for it.”
