Respect the rule of law: Varley

Matthew Varley.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force is calling on the Honiara public to respect the rule of law on the outcome of the civil case action between Hon. Mathew Wale and Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and OUR Party.

The civil case number 238 of 2019, will continue at the High Court on a later date.

The case was adjourned to accompany a new application which Wale’s lawyer now seek to pursue to address any procedural matters to prepare the matter for a hearing and any other matters that may be filed for determination on behalf of Mr. Sogavare and OUR Party.

Police Commissioner Mathew Varley urges people to calm down and respect the legal process now before the high court.

“What I am saying is that there needs to be no more rooms fro violence, intimidation, disrespect, or disorder on our streets,” he said.

‘If we allow this sentiment, this feeling, this emotion to continue, over the next few weeks while we wait for the court processes, then I fear that we are going to see continued tense situation on our streets that could erupt again to see what we saw during the recent Prime Minister’s election.”
