Prime Minister Hon. Manasseh Sogavare is confident, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is ready to participate in United Nations peace-keeping missions.

A government statement today says Prime Minister Sogavare made the statement in his address at the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly this morning.

Hon. Sogavare told the world leaders attending the summit, Solomon Islands has a well-trained police force that is ‘ready, willing and able’ to serve along side other UN peace-keeping officers.

The Prime Minister also calls on the UN Secretariat to consider Solomon Islands representation within its Secretariat staffing establishment as the country is currently underrepresented.
