Solomon Islands has been a real champion and pioneer in intergenerational leadership among other neighbouring countries according to the Vice President of the World Young Women Christian Association.
Susan Brenan made the statement during the opening of the regional young women leadership training in Honiara this week.
Mrs Brenan said Solomon Islands has been a real champion and pioneer in intergenerational leadership through it’s programs for young women.
“This is the home of the ‘Rise Up’ program because YWCA Solomon Islands has been a real champion and pioneer in intergenerational leadership. We have in the room the living evidence of the way in which older women and younger women have worked together to promote young women’s leadership.”
SIBC News understands the leadership training ends today attracting participants from Samoa, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
