COMMUNITIES CONCERNED OVER LIQUOR-RELATED ISSUES
Communities in North Malaita have expressed concerns over the number of liquor license holders in the region.
SIBC stringer for North Malaita, John Andrew Kiri said the concern came as a result of increasing alcohol-related activities in the region.
Mr Kiri says community leaders are calling on the police to monitor the number of liquor license holders.
“Community leaders here like chiefs, church elders and parents call on the Malu’u police to properly check the liqour license holders in the region because it will not make sense when chiefs are working hard to try and reduce kwaso production as well as address varoius anti-social activities associated with alcohol as negligence of these will encourage more anti-social behaviour.”
