A young security guard from Makira Province has pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding his wife with a pair of scissors during an argument in August last year.

The 19-year-old man and his wife argued about the adoption of their child who was in the care of a close relative.

The man lost his temper, picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed his wife on the left and right ribs and other parts of her body.

The woman fell unconscious and was transported to the GPPOL clinic.

She was transferred to the National referral hospital for further treatment.

The Court heard the accused has reconciled with his wife and paid compensation.

Magistrate Fatimah Taebiru adjourned the case to Monday next week for sentence.
