The Solomon Islands Scouts Association will start its flag raising exercise in Malaita schools soon.

Commissioner of the Scouts Association, Joe Billy Oge told SIBC’s ‘Distaem Nao’ program today, they have covered schools in Guadalcanal province and Honiara City last year after the revival of the exercise.

He says this year they are looking forward to starting the flag raising exercise with schools in Malaita province and four schools have already been identified.

“This year we are looking forward to starting our flag raising with schools in Malaita and four schools have already been listed for us to visit for a start and they are Walo, Gwaunaoa, Kwaiafa, and Nafinua. These will be the starting schools we are going to start with and so far we have completed more than 15 schools within Honiara and Guadalcanal.”

Mr. Oge said flag raising is important as it reminds people of being Solomon Islands citizens.
