GM, Mark, reiterated that SITCO is committed to provide its service under the purview of the Tobacco Act and it is committed as well in honouring its statutory obligation in terms of paying taxes to the government.

Mark also took the opportunity to update the Prime Minister on SITCO’s talent agenda which focuses on developing local talent for management positions in the Company. He introduced Lilly Poznanski, a SITCO employee who is poised to take on a bigger opportunity within the BAT Group.

Ms Poznanski will travel to Indonesia where she will be seconded to BAT Indonesia. She will spend her time there to train and return to SITCO. Currently Ms Poznanski is SITCO’s factory manager. Lilly started as an Intern in SITCO in 2018 before enrolling into the BAT Global Graduate (GG) Programme. She successfully graduated the GG Programme and took on the role of Warehouse Manager before being recently promoted as the Factory Manager.

The Prime Minister acknowledged that SITCO has been operating in the country well before independence and that it continues to do so to date, a sign of confidence in the local economy.

PM Sogavare assured GM Mark of the government’s continuous support and encouraged SITCO to continue to develop its local talents.

The Prime Minister wished Ms Poznanski all the best in her training in Indonesia and encouraged her to be a good ambassador of the country.
