THERE’s POTENTIAL FOR WOMEN: Dr. ALICE POLLARD
A founder of the West Are’are Rokotanikeni Association Dr. Alice Pollard has said her association’s achievement shows that there is potential for women to save and engage in economic development activities.
Mrs Pollard made the remark at the celebration of the association’s 16 years of establishment.
“There is potential for women to save and to engage in economic development activities. The opportunity exists for us. It means that women must not be denied of such opportunities. Women earn money through small initiatives.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Pollard also announced that since the establishment of the West Are’are Rokotanikeni Association they have a total of SBD$1,273,496 in savings.
She says, out of the total, more than $5,000 were withdrawn to meet member’s needs.
“In the last eight years out of that total $1,273,496.000, $5,948.00 were withdrawn.”
