TOVOSIA AND VEKE IN COURT FOR MENTION

Member of Parliament for east Guadalcanal Bradley Tovosia and former Guadalcanal Premier Anthony Veke have appeared at the Magistrate Court today for a mention on their case.

At their appearance, bail variation was applied for Mr Tovosia and was granted to allow him to travel to Fiji.

Principal Magistrate Fatimah Taeburi on accepting the application, said the original bail conditions will apply when Tovosia returns.

Meanwhile, she adjourned their case to 15 February for a new trial date.

She also told both men to appear in Court at the next appearance of the case and advised their Counsels to continue discussing outstanding matters on the case.

Hon. Tovosia and Veke are each facing 11 counts of abuse of office and attempt of abuse of office.

The allegations against them relates to when they were with the Guadalcanal Provincial Assembly as Finance Minister and Premier in 2013.
