Plans are ongoing for the National Government and Malaita Provincial Government to finalise documents with a Turkey’s Nazer Group of Companies for a $387 million funding for construction of a new Hospital at Kilu’ufi in Malaita Province.

Nazer Group of Company owner and Chief Executive Officer Sukru Cebi told Prime Minister Sogavare, his company wants to engage more in the manufacturing sector in Solomon Islands so that the country can stop relying heavily on imports and at the same time boost its level of exports.

Mr Cebi says funds are available and he hopes to return to Turkey with a signed Memorandum of Understanding so that funds can be released.

He says his company has links with the Turkish Government through Mr Osman who also serves as the President of the Red Cross in Turkey.

In response, Prime Minister Sogavare thanked Mr Cebu and his delegation for calling on him and told them, he had seen a copy of their company’s investment plans for Solomon Islands and that he was profoundly pleased with it.

Prime Minister Sogavare told the investor, its readiness to provide funding for a new Kilu’ufi Hospital could not have come at better time.
