ULAWA UGI AND CENTRAL MAKIRA HAVE CHOSEN NEW LEADERS

Ulawa Ugi and Central Makira constituencies have chosen new leaders.

They are Nestor Ghiro for Central Makira, and Willie Marau for Ulawa Ugi.

Nestor Ghiro ran as an independent, and has unseated the incumbent, Hypolite Taremae.

Nestor Ghiro won Central Makira with a majority of 33 votes.

In Ulawa Ugi, Willie Bradley Marau has won the constituency’s seat. Mr Marau ran as a Peoples Alliance Party candidate.

He unseated the former MP James Tora, who was a member of the United Democratic Party.

The Governor General Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui made the announcement mid morning today.
