USA lauds COVID-19 free Solomon Islands

The US Ambassador to the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Vanuatu -Her Excellency Erin Mckee has congratulated the Solomon Islands Government and its people for keeping the Solomon Islands free of coronavirus.

Ambassador Mckee sends her congratulatory statement when speaking to SIBC News from her office in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, this morning.

“I’d like to congratulate the government and people of the Solomon Islands, on the excellent measures taken that there have been no recorded cases of COVID-19.”

She assures, her Government has provided over 12-Million US dollars to countries in the Pacific, including the Solomon Islands to fight impacts of coronavirus.

“The United States would like to let you know, we have provided over USD$12.2 million dollars to the Pacific Islands and particularly to the Solomon Islands.”
