Undersecretary of the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs Hugo Hebala has reminded children in the country, they have laws to protect them.

Speaking during the 2015 International Children’s Day celebration yesterday, Mr Hebala told the children participating in the celebrations they are not alone in their problems.

He says the country has the Family Protection Bill in place to safeguard the rights and well-being of a child.

“When you run into problems of negligence, problems of isolation, problems of separation from your families, I would like to assure you this morning you have a law, you have an institution to run to in your view. Apart from this success, we at the Ministry also advocate on issues that are arising in the world today.”

The International Children’s Day was celebrated yesterday with the theme “Treasure our Children.”
