A Guadalcanal community leader has appealed on relevant stakeholders to work together to address non-communicable diseases increasing rapidly in the country.
Betty Gigisi told SIBC News, her conviction is the result of an eye opener festival in Vanuatu.
“I think I would like to call upon the partners looking at this global issue to come together and in Solomon Islands, I would like to appeal to the responsible authorities looking after these areas to come together and to speak one idea and move things forward.”
Mrs. Gigisi also explains the aim of the festival.
“The festival we attended was a Tupunis Festival. Tupunis is a Vanuatu term for custom food, land and such and the revival of traditional norms and practices.”
