FORMER PM TO MEET WITH GREG FRY OF PACIFIC DIPLOMACY COLLEGE

The Australian National University’s State, Society and Governance in Melanesia SSGM today confirms, the former Solomon Islands Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo will meet Greg Fry of the Asia-Pacific College of Diplomacy in the Coral Bell School on 10th of this month.

A statement by the University says their conversation will be based on Solomon Islands foreign relations and Pacific regional diplomacy.

Under the same program, the former Prime Minister will also meet with James Batley from the State, Society, and Governance in Melanesia Program in the Coral Bell School on 14th of this month.

Mr. Lilo’s meeting with Mr. Batley will be on political culture, elections and state-building in Solomon Islands.

The statement says this initiative aims to deal with major challenges in building a strong and accountable state to foster a broad-based and inclusive economic growth in Solomon Islands.

The program is set to accommodate a youth bulge and in meeting the expectations of local people for effective service delivery.
