Kongulai Trustees are calling on the National Government to own up to its commitment to meet with landowners of Kongulai to sort out outstanding water issues.

This call was made by the Spokesperson of the Kongulai Trustees Mr. Charles Keku Chivili on Distaem Nao Program this morning.

He says they have issued a notice inviting the Government for a dialogue with landowners, saying if government fails to meet with landowners then they have no choice but to shut down the water source as of Friday this week.

“And we’ve served another seven days notice to the Government that we will terminate the lease agreement of the Kongulai water source if it failed to respond.”

Mr. Keku also apologised on behalf of the Kongulai Trustees for any inconvenience caused but there are serious outstanding issues that needs immediate consideration.

“We would like to convery our apology to the Honiara public if this will cause inconveniences to you by this weekend. We would like to say sorry for that.”
